amount when you donate it to temple,          看似数目庞大
but such a small amount                                但去商店购物时，

Isn't it strange how 2 hours                           在庙宇时
seem so long when                                        两个小时显得很长
you're at the temple,                                      看一出好电影时
and how short they seem when you're          却似乎很短
watching a good movie?                                 这奇怪不奇怪？

Isn't it strange that you can't                         祈祷时

find a word to say when                                 一个字也想不出
you're praying,                                                和朋友聊天却
but you have no trouble                                 毫不费力便
thinking what to talk about                            滔滔不绝
with a friend?                                                 这奇怪不奇怪？

Isn't it strange how difficult                            阅读博伽梵歌一个章节
and boring it is to read                                   是困难又枯燥
one chapter of the Bhagavad-gita,                 读一百页的流行小说
but how easy it is to                                       却轻松自如
read 100 pages of a popular novel?               这奇怪不奇怪？

Isn't it strange how everyone                        去看音乐会或比赛时
wants front-row-tickets                                  每个人都争买前排票
to concerts or games,                                    去庙宇时
but they do whatever                                     却尽量藏在最后一排
is possible to sit at the last                            这奇怪不奇怪？
row or at the back of the temple room?

Isn't it strange how we need to                    庙宇活动两三星期前我们就想了解有什么活动
know about an event for                               好决定是否要把它安排进日程
temple 2-3 weeks before the day                 但在最后一分钟
so we can include it in our agenda,               我们可以马上调整去参加其他活动
but we can adjust it for other events            这奇怪不奇怪？
in the last minute?

Isn't it strange how difficult it                        学会关于神的事实并与别人分享
is to learn a fact about                                  非常困难
God to share it with others,                          学习、了解、宣扬和重复闲话
but how easy it is to learn,                           却轻松自如
understand, extend and repeat gossip?      这奇怪不奇怪？

Isn't it strange how we                                我们相信
believe everything                                       报刊杂志的所有内容
that magazines and newspapers                但对博伽瓦谭和其他经典里
say, but we question the words in the        每一个字都会质疑
Bhagavatam and other scriptures?              这奇怪不奇怪？

Isn't it strange how everyone                     每个人都想在灵性世界里
wants a place in the spiritual world,            有一个位置
but they don't want to believe,                   但他们不愿信、不愿做、也不愿说以到达那里
do, or say anything to get there?                这奇怪不奇怪？

Isn't it strange how we send                      有了玩笑邮件
jokes in e-mails                                           我们马上就四处转发
and they are forwarded
right away,                                                  收到关于奎师那的信息时
but when we are going to send                  却会思虑再三
messages about Krishna, we think             这奇怪不奇怪？
about it twice before we share
it with others?
